check injection

I have a megane 1.5 dci 2007 with check injection diplayed on dashboard. I had been advised it may be glowplugs but have tested them and all seems ok there, the car has no visable running faults only when I start from cold it (white) smokes a lot for a minute or so and then is fine again for the day, it only occurs when starting from cold. I thought this was down to redix mix I used but that was some time ago (approx 4-5 full tanks ago and its still doing it). When it smokes it gives off a horrible fumey stench also for a few secs within the car which is not pleasent, Please please can anyone help with some advise, apart from get rid of car LOL.
