Hi all, its been a little while since I had an issue on my 54 1.6 dynamiq.... but sure enough they're back - little long winded but please read through and help if you can
It seems I have 3 issues which are all connected - and i'm stumped
Last week I noticed my auto-dimming rear view mirror had stopped dimming, which was annoying but no major issue, so this weekend I got out the multi-meter, disconnected the mirror and found no voltage to the mirror when the lights were on and engine running.
I put it back together, checked the inter web and found the mirror, auto lights and auto wipers all run off the same circuit, i hadn't had the wipers on all week and i was sure the auto lights were working. to be sure i de-activated the auto lights and re-activated them... This is where the 1st error come up "AUTO LIGHTS FAULT" and a SERVICE light - De-activating them cleared the error, and re-activating them brought it back.
With this error cleared I next put the wipers into auto, to find "AUTO WIPERS FAULT" and a SERVICE light
A search of this forum instructed me this could be a 7.5A fuse in the engine bay fuse box, I promptly changed this and tested, no fix - Next I found this could be a problem with the light/rain sensor behind the mirror, But i'm not sure why this should just fail, so curiosity took over, I put the multi-meter across the 3 pin connector for the sensor in all combinations and found no voltage to this either....
At this point, ive run out of ideas?????? can any one offer any assistance?
Many thanks in advance
Dean

OK - I maybe screwed up a little - but this may be useful for someoe else.... I checked the 7.5 amp fuse in the engine bay and found it wasnt blown, i concluded it wasnt a fuse issue = however I recently discovered this >
(S) 3 A Passenger compartment temperature sensor and fan - autodimming
rear-view mirror - rain and light sensor (depending on version)
A 3amp fuse in the top left of the passenger compartment fuse box, guess what

My problem is somewhat opposite to yours - autodip mirror works fine, but no autolights or auto wipers. Checked the 7.5 amp fuse and the 3 amp was. Even more confusing is that it's NOT throwing up any errors when I activiate / deactivate the autolights (but maybe the switch itself is faulty as it does absolutely nothing to suggest the system has been activated / deactivated). I need to sort this out - autolights is not much of a problem (although I like the feature and hope it worked) but autowipers is a bit of a problem since I can only use 2 speeds of wiper and not the intermittent setting (unless sitting in traffic stationery). Been like this since I bought the car and I've fitted a new sensor / gel just-in-case!
