Car let me down first time

Spent a couple of minutes defrosting car this morning, then off to go, but door wouldn't latch shut

Spent a while getting the lock out of the door, had some ice around it (just a bit) , warmed it up a bit with a lighter and gave it a tap and was working again fine.

This a common problem on these or think just a one off? (had the car last winter too, with no problems)

A bucket of slightly warm water every morning in winter - no such problems ever.
