Getting Renault to pay for a Dephaser, out of Warranty..???

Has anyone actually managed it???
We have an 03 plated Megane, that was making the dreaded noise well within the warranty period, but, as usual, Renault couldn't find anything wrong with it (it went in about 3 or 4 times...!!!) since the warranty has expired, it has got worse
Must admit I am a bit p*ssed with Renault, as knowing what I do now, it was the dephaser all along...
So, has anyone actually managed to get Renault to admit to c*cking up, and got them to cough up for a new unit???
Cheers
Guy
