Engine cutting out

Hi Guys,

Just need a bit of advice before I end up taking it down to the garage.

Megane Expression 16v 1.4 2005. I start the car first thing in the morning without a problem and it sits on about 900 revs, ideal. If I then stop and restart the car say an hour later it starts fine, however the revs dip to around 600 and the engine struggles and typically cuts out. If I start and put in straight in gear and drive say 2 metres and stop, its completely fine and back on 900 revs....

Any help or a heads up of what it could be would be greatly appreciated.
