Centre Clock panel

Hi guys. New to this group and trying to get my recently purchased cc in order. I have a 2008 model with the LCD clock that looks like the backlighting has failed. I saw a video on youtube that show a guy just lifting up the front of the panel that its mounted in then just pulling it away from the dash. I tried this. Yest I can lift up the front but no way will it pull forward. Any ideas what I need to do? Any help would me much appreciated.
