Gearbox noise - help! Megane 1.9 cc manual 6 speed

Hello everyone, I am desperate for some feedback on a noise I hear just at the moment I lift the clutch pedal very slightly - but before the clutch actually engages. I have managed to capture this on two 20 second video clips

The metallic noise occurs only in 1st and 2nd gear and coincides with vibration and a sense of metal on metal via the gear lever. As soon as clutch bites the noise goes. This is most noticeable after a run when everything is warmed up.
It has been suggested that this might be first motion shaft bearings. I am annoyed because this is how car was supplied from dealer who is now being evasive.(long story).
Car is 2009 Megane Mk2 1.9 diesel with 6 speed manual box and 44000 miles on the clock.
