Chip broken in key card - but what is it?

Hi all

Have had the common issue of the key card not being recognised when in the slot in the car.
Took it all apart and found a bad connection to the coil to the right of the buttons and repaired it.
Had to buy a replacement case from Amazon as the mine broke when taking it apart!!
and then--- the top of what I assume is a chip fell off and now whilst the key lets me start the car it won't unlock/lock the doors.
Have been looking unsuccessfully for a circuit diagram to ID the chip,
Wonder if anyone can tell me what the circled part is in the attached picture?
Ah - cant work out how to add a picture to this post!!
So the chip I am looking at is the small two ended one (actually could be a fuse I guess) near to the hole intended for a key ring.

Does this make any sense? - hope so

Thanks

Colin

Hi Colin, did you manage to fathom the circuitry within the key card to the point whereby you're now able to remotely unlock / lock the car doors?. I'll have a look at the Haynes but I doubt whether it'll go into that level of detail.
Are you able to upload the link to the site where you sourced your replacement case by any chance?
