air con permanently on

think i've raised the question before, on a mkiii dci when the engine starts up the aircon is automatically on. Found a way of not having to manually switch off, if the direction control is set to the one below the one with windscreen and down arrow, then when startingup the aircon does not come on automatically. Found this by accident as 99% of the time my control is set on the one below demist only.

I have a Megane CC III, if the direction control is set to anything that includes the screen the air con comes on when the engine starts. If it is set to the footwell the air con doesn't come on automatically.
