cambelt 1.9 DCI 2005

Postby kevlynnbailey » Thu Aug 20, 2015 3:06 pm

I have just bought it with 82k miles but its not clear from the receipts I have if the belt has ever been changed.

I have looked on eBay and one seller gave a warning to make sure the right one is purchased as there are two possible. Which is the right kit, also going to replace the water pump. I have found the locking pins on eBay. My motor factor is getting prices.

I assume this can be a diy job as I have been quoted £300

If you know what you're doing with a spanner, you should be ok.

not quite a diy as there are no markings on the cams and you have to lock the flywheel inside the engine and time it etc. not simple at all on the 1.9 dci, and the method of symply locking all the cams to the current position is not really a god job
Renault Megane II 1.9dci sport p. 3dr. lowered on koni's,and exhausting through sebring

i would have thought it to cost around £125 - £200.

I know a local garage that does VW/Audi ones for around the lower end of that.
