Best air filter for mk2 1.6 16v cc? Please advice

I plan to make heat shield for cone air filter with proper cold air induction, got all I need, but I'm not happy enough with standard Halford's cone air filter, so want to replace it for better...
My main question is which will be best?
I'm looking at k&n dedicated, not sure though if should get 1.6 16v or 2.0 16v? Will that make any difference? Unless there is different one that is tested and works well?
