I am thinking of buying a 2008 Megane Convertible 1.9dCi FAP with 42,000 on the clock. Having carried out a HPI and MOT history the mileage appears to be genuine. The car is in good condition, clean and tidy with only typical age related stone chips and minor scuff marks on the alloy wheels. Cam belt and water pump have been changed and the log book shows regular servicing.
Given the low mileage, over 12 years, should the FAP filter be a particular concern at all? Should I consider asking for it to be cleaned? I have taken it for a test drive - a mixture of country lanes and a shortish section of 50-60 mph driving. Seemed to handle well no obvious signs of smoke or soot from the exhaust, nor any when i watched the car being reversed. If i buy the car it will be a sued on a mixture of some fast driving (dual carriageway and county roads for work.
Any advice on the FAP filter appreciated.
