Low revs when starting cold

Picked up car last friday, engine warning light came on with service light, dealer replaced cam shaft sensor. But have also noticed recently when starting from cold sometimes -2 the revs dont go above 1000rpm, and the tempertur gauage stays on the 2nd line.

Today after driving to work, 3 hours later started car again, revs appeared lumpy but then picked....any ideas.

Is that a diesel? I am guessing, could it be the battery on its way out.

Hopefully someone can help.......the last few days started ok, no noise like described for the dreaded dephaser pully and never stalls. However today started car after standing over night reves drop right down attempt to put a few revs on drops to the point of stalling then picks up, again no rattle just poor cold starting ? dont know where to start. apart from this I love it and averaging 39.9 mpg.

Help
