As per the other thread, I am going to say star city just off the M6. Theres loads of "stuff" we could do there, hey we could even go to nandos, then blast up the M6 and do a spin round the block, loads of roads round there.

Bit gutted I didn't make the other meeting :(

Dont be, you are a married man now

Dont mean to be selfish but could we do it in the middle of August? Sort of unavailable between 27 july and 9 august. Of on a trip.

Mid-August is (or seems to be) fine by me!

Should be some decent sunny weather by then, non of this liquid sunshine we've been having. I put the roof down yesterday (at the lights, hee hee). Drove 1/2 mile down the road and it started to rain! :mad

Dont worry, a friend of mine has a 307cc and she was somewhere on the motorway with the roof down and it started to rain and the nearest stopping point was 1 hour away. That car was properly soaked + she got a nice cold shower for free.....

:ot Simple solution to that one... make sure you stay at 80 and the rain goes over...

But on a serious point, if it were bad, I'd stop on the hard shoulder for 20 seconds and if the rozzers don't like it, I'd explain that getting rain in the eyes is a danger to road safety. I can't see them giving you a ticket or a fine for that.

And now to get myself back on topic, I think Mid-August works for me too... but I'll be honest and say that I'd need to combine it with a trip to my folks as it's 3 hours each way for me from Lancing... put me down as a 25% Yes.

sounds good, but would it not be better somewhere more scenic with fun roads other than the M6... like maybe Matlock, Buxton, Somewhere in shropshire etc...

Buxton is quite nice, has a nice country pub by the park and the road from leek to buxton is excellent to drive along as it is a national speed limit road over the peak district that has recently been resurfaced etc... also happens to be the 2nd most deadly road in GB though :-(
