1.5 dci question
Hi Guys
Not been around for a while, hope everyone had a good Christmas!
Anway - a question for 1.5dci owners. I'm looking to buy one for my daughter sometime in the next two months, possibly 03 to 54 reg.
Do all the 1.5 dcis fall into the band b class for road tax? ie: £35 per year?
My friend has an 06 and his does, but he thinks that earlier ones did not because of poorer emissions.
Could one of our owners shed some light on this please. (just trying to make my daughter's driving experience less painful from a cash point of view!)
Regards
Rob

1.5DCi Dynamique with comfort pack - Antique Green.
as far as i know all cars after 2001 fall into the new tax bands. band b is 101-120 g/km. band c 121-150 is £115 for the year. I'm pretty sure that all the 1.5's are band b, with the 1.9's being c.
looking on parkers it seems that the 80,86 and 100 bhp lumps are band b, with the 106bhp being band c so you should be fine mate

Hmmm, the 1.5 sports tourer is in the 115/year bracket
If I remember correctly the 106 engined car with a fitted sunroof also falls into this higher class?

Just reread that and looks like Dean has it covered,
Cheers

Min is £115 a year, being a Sport Tourer with the sunroof!

Even without the sunroof the sports tourer is £115 Don't know why, and it doesn't matter really as the fuel consumption covers it

Re: 1.5 dci question
Apparently if a 1.5dci 106bh doesn`t have a sun roof the road tax is £35 a year but with a sun roof its £115.

Re: 1.5 dci question
It's now gone up to £120 if the CO2 is over 120g/km. Next year (2009) it will be £30 and £90 (a nice decrease) followed by £35 and £95 from 2010 onwards (for non-new cars - if you buy a new one in 2010 then the first year is free!)

Hi,
Newbie here, and was wondering if I could grab some advice as I'm a bit confused (doesn't take a lot!!)
I've got a Renault Megane Dynamique 5 door 1.5dci 106 2006 with a panoramic sunroof, first registered July 2006. It's the later model, which changed in 2006, as I found this out when I had to buy new wipers for the front.
I've just had my tax renewal form through and its £66 for 6 months, and £120 for 12 months. However, when I go onto Parkers or DVLA websites, it is £35 for the year!!
Can anyone explain the discrepancies? When I checked the V5 document, it says CO2 emissions are 124, which would account for the higher cost by 4 points, but why is it listed differently on the DVLA and Parkers? How can a sunroof acount for greater emissions??
Is there anyway that the V5 document could be wrong?
Many thanks for your help

Re: 1.5 dci question
The V5 is correct, the car falls into the higher category by 4 gms as you say, more than enough. Can only imagine the extra weight needs slightly more engine power so emmisions are slightly higher. Not all publications go into great depth where slight variations in spec affect the tax banding. Can understand your dissapointment though. Motto is check the V5 before purchase.
